PARENT OFFERINGS

 

English as a Second Language - 
ESL, or English as a Second Language, is offered to our parents who are interested in working on their English language and conversation skills.

Parent U - 
Parent U is back for the 2023-2024 school year! This class offers participants a chance to build community, support your children’s education, and explore new areas of information. Through our partnership with Teen Health Connection, speakers will cover topics such as Active Parenting, Teens & Technology, and Substance Abuse. We also have a class devoted to yoga and mindfulness with Casey from Creating Comunidad Yoga. Other leaders will cover diet and nutrition, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library resources, and "what does my student's MAP test score really mean?". 

Gettin’ Ahead in a Just-Gettin’ By World (in English and Spanish) - 
Is a paid focus group designed to investigate the economic classes of your community. Participants gain a better understanding of the language and patterns of poverty, middle, and wealthy. In this group you will discuss what it takes to build financial stability and the difference between income and wealth. This group will also help you build the resources needed for a better life.  It is by understanding the other economic classes that we are able to improve our situations and communities. 
 
 
Women’s Journey - 
Class addressing issues that many women struggle with including drugs, alcohol, sexual addiction & self-esteem, just to name a few. It is about discovering our true selves, connecting in healthy relationships & gaining a spiritual connection on the road to self-knowledge & love.

Bible Study
This Fall, pastors from Christ Lutheran will lead a semester on the book of Genesis!
