McPIE students have the opportunity to participate in several weekend activities.

Working together with Trips for Kids - Charlotte (TFKC), students are able to participate in weekend bike rides through several popular Charlotte parks. TFKC partner with nonprofits with the goal of helping young people. A hand-full of students are also able to visit the Re-Cyclery where they refurbish "dusty not rusty" bicycles as part of their Earn-A-Bike program.

Providence Day School (PDS) provides fishing outings and rock climbing opportunities. Once a month, PDS takes groups of McClintock students to McDowell Nature Preserve for a morning of fishing. On another weekend, PDS students share rock climbing experiences with students at Inner Peaks.
