Pathways Summer Science Camp
The Pathways Summer Science Camp engages 200 students for two weeks of hands-on STEM discovery!
Rising 6th graders participate in Sixth GradeTrailblazers. Using Camp Invention, students are introduced to environmental, life, and physical science along with engineering concepts. With Friday field trips to UNC-Charlotte, students learn about future college opportunities. For many, this will be their first steps on a college campus. Laser Quest provides an exciting demonstration of light and optics.
Rising 7th and 8th graders (Career Track (CT) Explorers) experience hands-on science by choosing three of five tracks (6 tracks will be rotated yearly): Ten80, Design Squad, SpherO Bots, Medical Mysteries, Eat Your Labwork, and VEX IQ Robotics. Friday field trips to Hendricks Motorsports, Johnson and Wales University, Carolinas College of
Health Sciences, The City of Charlotte - Planning, Design, and Development, The Apple Store, and US National Whitewater Center provide a chance to see science at
work and learn about careers.
