Pathways Summer Science Camp

The Pathways Summer Science Camp engages 200 students for two weeks of hands-on STEM discovery! COVID paused Science Camp during summers 2020 and 2021.

 

Rising 6th graders participate in Sixth Grade Trailblazers.  Using Camp Invention, students are introduced to environmental, life, and physical science along with engineering concepts.  With Friday field trips to UNC-Charlotte, students learn about future college opportunities.  For many, this will be their first steps on a college campus.  Other field trip opportunities have included Laser Quest, Discovery Place, and other exciting, educational places around Charlotte!

 

Rising 7th and 8th graders (Career Track (CT) Explorers) experience hands-on science by participating in 5 modules (subject to change yearly). This group of students returned to camp summer of 2023! Most recently, modules have included Ten80, Design Squad, SpherO Bots, Medical Mysteries, Science: It's What's for Dinner, water Wizards, and Teamwork Wins Championships.  Friday field trips to Hendricks Motorsports, The City of Charlotte - Planning, Design, and Development, Discovery Place, Brand RPM, and Z Max Raceway provide a chance to see science at work and learn about careers.

Summer 2024 will be exciting with new curriculum for our CTE students and an additional chance to experience a college campus at Davidson College!
